Introduction

Race MRR is a free service built by a group of indie hackers who just made their first dollar online. We built this to capture our journey and encourage friendly competition as we chase financial freedom. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our service.

Information We Collect

Authentication Data

When you sign in with Google OAuth, we collect:

• Email address
• Full name
• Profile avatar image

Payment Provider Data

We aggregate your revenue and monthly recurring revenue (MRR) from your connected providers:

• RevenueCat: Provides revenue and MRR data directly through their API. Note that RevenueCat's verified URL only provides data for the last 28 days. Each day we sync the last 28 days while preserving the historical data we had before.
• Stripe: We calculate revenue and MRR using your charges, refunds, and subscriptions from read-only API keys
• Polar: Provides revenue and MRR data directly through their API
• DodoPayments: We calculate revenue and MRR using your payments, refunds, and subscriptions from read-only API keys
• Project names, icons, and metadata associated with your connected accounts

We only use read-only API keys and never have access to modify your payment provider accounts or process transactions.

Usage Data

We collect analytics data through third-party services to understand how our service is used and improve the user experience. This includes:

• Landing page metrics (users, hits, clicks) through Datafa.st
• User feedback through UserJot
• Error logs and performance metrics

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Race MRR service
• Sync your MRR data daily from your connected payment providers (Stripe, RevenueCat, Polar, and DodoPayments)
• Display your position on leaderboards within races you join
• Enable you to race with friends and compare MRR progress
• Improve and optimize our service
• Respond to your inquiries and provide support

Data Sharing and Privacy

Your data is private by default. We do not share your information with third parties except as described below:

Race Participants

Your aggregated revenue and MRR data is private to you and your friends that are in the same race. When you join a race, only the participants in that specific race can see:

• Your username and avatar
• Your position on the leaderboard
• Your aggregated revenue and MRR metrics

Your project-level data is only visible to you. Other race participants cannot see individual project details, only your aggregated metrics. You can remove your projects or leave a race at any time.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Database and authentication services where we store your data (hosted infrastructure)
• Google: OAuth authentication provider
• Stripe: Your payment service provider - we fetch your revenue data from Stripe using read-only API keys and store it in Supabase. We do not send data to Stripe.
• RevenueCat: Your payment service provider - we fetch your revenue data from RevenueCat using API credentials and store it in Supabase. We do not send data to RevenueCat.
• Polar: Your payment service provider - we fetch your revenue data from Polar using API keys and store it in Supabase. We do not send data to Polar.
• DodoPayments: Your payment service provider - we fetch your revenue data from DodoPayments using read-only API keys and store it in Supabase. We do not send data to DodoPayments.
• UserJot: Feedback collection service (does not receive revenue or MRR data)
• Datafa.st: Landing page analytics service for tracking users, hits, and clicks (does not receive revenue or MRR data)

Your revenue and MRR data is only stored in Supabase and shared with race participants as described above. We do not share revenue data with UserJot or Datafa.st. Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in Supabase databases with industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

API keys are stored encrypted and are only used to fetch your revenue data. We never store your payment provider passwords or have the ability to modify your accounts.

Data Sync Frequency

We sync your revenue data every day in the background from your connected payment providers. This ensures your position on the leaderboard stays accurate and up-to-date.

For RevenueCat projects, we sync the last 28 days of data each day while preserving all historical data we had before. This means your historical data will continue to be available even though RevenueCat only provides the last 28 days.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: You can view all data associated with your account through the Race MRR interface
• Data Deletion: You can delete your data at any time by deleting projects. When you delete a project, all associated data (including MRR metrics and project information) will be removed
• Disconnect Providers: You can disconnect your Stripe, RevenueCat, Polar, or DodoPayments payment providers at any time by deleting the associated project, which will stop data syncing
• Leave Races: You can leave any race you've joined, which will remove your data from that race's leaderboard

To exercise these rights, please contact us or use the controls available in your Race MRR account.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
